Your One Stop Shop for All Hydrotherapy Needs
Hydrotherapy pools are warm water pools or spas typically used by physiotherapists to treat patients who may have physical problems or special needs or indeed require some sort of rehabilitation. Bos Leisure build hydrotherapy pools for private individuals, hospitals, special needs schools and private practitioners.
Experts in Hydrotherapy
Hydrotherapy pool design involves an assessment of the user’s special needs and matching those with equipment to provide appropriate therapeutic benefits. This can mean massage beds/seats, air blowers, massage jets, swim jets and adjustable floors. The pool size depends on requirements, location and usage. They typically will vary from a small domestic hydrotherapy pool of 3m x 4m up to much larger commercial ones. Specialist lighting and music can also be added to hydrotherapy pools. Hydrotherapy pools are typically concrete tiled pools, as these are better suited to the higher running temperatures and are mainly indoor, so heating and ventilation equipment is required. More often than not, UV disinfection is added and chemical disinfection levels are run a little lower.
Warm Water Hydrotherapy
Hydrotherapy spas are essentially a similar concept to a pool, though tend to be either acrylic or concrete tiled. The same design principals apply in spas as with pools, involving an assessment of the user’s special needs and matching those with equipment to provide appropriate therapeutic benefits.
